Banners are printed as one piece of fabric and then the sides are hemmed to reinforce the edges.  This makes your message look better when it is hanging.  Grommets are placed around the top and bottom edges about every 50cm.  You may want to cut your mesh banner down, which is fine, but if you do, you will cut off the hemmed edges.
