!! IMPORTANT WARNING !!
NEVER Advertise YOUR PET as “FREE to a GOOD HOME”!
Firstly, and most worryingly, the widespread, cruel activity of illegal dog-fighting has led to a demand by these criminals for cats, kittens and small dogs to use as ‘bait’ in fight training. When you give a pet away for free, the lack of financial investment increases the chance that they won’t treat the pet well.
Our goal & things to think about:
- Is to help Lady because you love her and have her best interest at heart.
- To do your best to ensure she goes to a home which is suited to her individual needs and personality. Either by carrying out a home-visit or by an ‘interview’ screening process. This ensures she has the best chance of finding the right home for her.
- You may need to be available to offer advice to the new owners, if there are any ‘settling in’ issues, and are you prepared to take her back into your care if the home doesn’t work out?

Please note this was an informational research project to educate a friend & a new parent for proper senior cat care & adoption. I did not write most of this material, only gathered & now sharing it to help other cat parents.
